The Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture, Mr. Gayton McKenzie, attended the prestigious South Africa Rugby Awards in Cape Town, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC)

The Minister extends his heartfelt congratulations to all the nominees and winners of the evening. Notably, Cheslin Kolbe was named Men’s Player of the Year, with his father accepting the award on his behalf. Meanwhile, Nadine Roos secured the Women’s Player of the Year title for the second time in three years, marking a remarkable achievement in her career.

Minister McKenzie also expressed his appreciation to SA Rugby President, Mr. Mark Alexander, the South African Rugby Union (SARU), Supersport, all stakeholders, and South Africans nationwide for their unwavering support of the sport.

Furthermore, the Minister reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that women’s rugby receives the same recognition and support as men’s rugby, enabling female players to reach their full potential and thrive on the international stage.
