Ms Peace Mabe was appointed as Deputy Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture from 3 July 2024.
She has been a member of the National Assembly since 2009. Her long-standing tenure in Parliament highlights her commitment to legislative work and her dedication to serving her constituents.
Ms Mabe has a strong background in political leadership, having served as a member of the Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) and as a former member of the PEC Youth League. These roles have provided her with valuable experience in political strategy and grassroots organisation.
She holds Bachelor of Arts and Honours degrees in Public Administration from the University of Pretoria. Her academic background in public administration has equipped her with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective governance and public service.
Outside of her political career, Ms Mabe enjoys reading and traveling. These interests not only reflect her personal passions but also contribute to her broader perspective on global and domestic issues.
Throughout her parliamentary career, she has served on several important committees, including the portfolio committees on Finance, Human Settlements and Agriculture respectively. She served as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Women, Children, and People with Disabilities, as well as the Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration. She has also been working with the Judicial Service Commission.
Ms Mabe is motivated by a desire to improve the lives of South Africans and make the country a better place. Her political philosophy focuses on improving the well-being of the people and advancing the nation's development through dedicated public service and effective governance.
