In light of the recent media reports that suggest that Robben Island Museum (RIM) vessels were non-compliant and endangering the safety of visitors; the reports in question are inaccurate and misleading, as operating a vessel that does not comply with the law is prohibited. The allegations are malicious and germinate from a disgruntled employee who is facing a disciplinary hearing for serious allegations, following a whistle blow.

The Pan South African Language Board (PanSALB), in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education and the SABC will, on 20-21 February 2023, be commemorating International Mother Language Day at the Ranch Resort, outside Polokwane in Limpopo. This forms part of the institution’s continued efforts to promote the use of mother tongue and the furtherance of multilingualism in the country.
